  • Funding Provided for Students to Experience Arctic Adventures

    Photo: Michael Gardiner, 2011 Students on Ice Arctic Expedition participant, (left) joined the Honourable Darin King, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, recently to present photos to the minister taken during the July 23 to August 7 trip that explored the coasts of Greenland, Labrador and Nunavik (Northern Quebec) and other communities in that region. Mr. Gardiner was supported financially for the expedition by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

  • Ministerial Statement - Youth Science Month Recognized

The Minister was joined by Lina Gallant, treasurer of the Eastern Newfoundland Science Fairs Council and, from back left, Anna O’Grady, a Level 3 student at Bishops College in St. John’s; Hannah Boone, a Level 1 student at Holy Heart in St. John’s; and Megan Howse, a Level 2 student at O’Donel High in Mount Pearl. All three students competed and brought home awards from in the Canada Wide Science Fair held in Toronto last year.
