Request for Proposals Concludes for St. Peter's Primary Project

Renovations and an extension to St. Peter’s Primary in Mount Pearl are moving forward with a contract, valued at $5.2 million, being awarded to Marco Services Limited.

The St. Peter’s Primary project will result in six additional classrooms as well as an extension to house a new gymnasium and improvements to the cafeteria and kitchen. Construction is expected to be completed by the spring of 2019.

Previous renovations to the school to accommodate full-day Kindergarten were completed for the beginning of the school year in 2016.

“This project was identified in our multi-year infrastructure plan, which will invest nearly $3 billion in new and existing schools, hospitals, long-term care facilities, highways and major roads and municipal infrastructure over the next five years. These investments are essential to growing the economy, supporting job creation and meeting the needs of residents throughout the province.”
Honourable Steve Crocker
Minister of Transportation and Works

“Upgrading and improving school infrastructure throughout Newfoundland and Labrador is a significant priority to support safe and productive learning environments for students. The tender for the renovations and extension to St. Peter’s Primary in Mount Pearl is part of the Provincial Government’s infrastructure plan that is an important investment for the community and will have a meaningful impact on the quality of education for students.”
Honourable Dale Kirby
Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development
