The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will meet with the Honourable Bernadette Jordan, federal Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, and eastern Canadian fisheries and aquaculture ministers tomorrow (Wednesday, January 15) at the Hotel Halifax in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Eastern Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministers meeting is the first formal meeting of the federal minister with ministers from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Quebec since June 2017. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss eastern Canada fisheries and aquaculture priorities, marine conservation targets and aquaculture.
