Public Advisory: Work to Repair Bridge Above Peacekeepers Way Begins This Weekend

September 18, 2019

Work to repair Eason’s Road Bridge above Route 2, Peacekeepers Way, will begin 6:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21.

Due to heavy equipment required to temporarily remove the bridge, motorists will detour at the highway’s intersections with Minerals Road and Manuels Access Road. The detour also ensures the safety of motorists and crews working on the bridge and for work to be completed as quickly as possible.

The work is anticipated to be completed by 6:00 a.m. Monday, September 23. The detour will be removed during the weekend if work is completed earlier.

Signs and traffic control measures will be in place to direct travellers. Motorists are reminded to pay attention to the posted speed limits along the detours and to drive cautiously.

Details on this project and other projects throughout the province can be found at http://www.nl511.ca/, by calling 511, and on the smartphone app. This project is currently displayed as a future activity.

Updates will also be provided on Twitter @TW_GovNL.
