The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, today announced a Business Investment Loan of $300,000 to the Doctor’s House Inn and Spa to assist with expansion and modernization. Minister Davis toured the facility today.
This repayable loan permitted the Doctor’s House Inn and Spa to add 16 additional suites, allowing the business to target and service unique market segments. This funding allowed the business to double capacity, and will play a role in attracting additional tourism traffic in the shoulder seasons.
The Doctor’s House Inn and Spa is a well-established 4.5 star accommodation operating in Green’s Harbour. The historic property was started more than 50 years ago by Dr. Charles Boddie and his wife Mary.
Support for the 2017-20 Provincial Tourism Product Development Plan delivers on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation. The Way Forward outlines all actions the provincial government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.
