The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, today announced an investment of $246,000 for BreatheSuite Inc. to support the company’s research and development on innovative technology for proper inhaler usage.
BreatheSuite is developing ‘smart’ inhaler add-on devices that train asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease patients in proper inhaler technique and adherence.
Founded by Brett Vokey, BreatheSuite was a participant in Memorial University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, Bounce Health Innovation, and the Genesis Evolution program. Since its inception, the company has been recognized internationally, most notably placing in the Top 10 globally at the prestigious New York Health Innovation Challenge.
The Provincial Government is delivering on commitments outlined in the Business Innovation Agenda and Technology Sector Work Plan. These commitments help strengthen the province’s economic foundation, and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents.
