July Declared as Automotive Heritage Month

The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Service NL, along with the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada (NAACC), has declared July 2019 as Automotive Heritage Month in Newfoundland and Labrador.

NAACC Automotive Heritage Month was first designated in July 2010 to recognize the unity of automotive hobbyists from coast to coast. Since 1980, the NAACC has donated proceeds from annual car shows and fundraisers to various health care facilities and organizations.

The NAACC is a federally incorporated, non-profit organization of Canadian automobile clubs. Their volunteer directors work in every province to encourage and support various collector vehicle clubs. The month of July will recognize the direct financial and cultural benefits that automotive hobbyists bring to Canada through generated business, employment and charity work.

“Automotive Heritage Month is an opportunity to show case the skill and dedication that goes into restoring and maintaining these unique vehicles. I applaud the local branch of the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada for their charitable work that has benefitted so many Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.” Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh
Minister of Service NL

“During Automotive Heritage Month we recognize all the volunteer work and dedication the hobbyist gives to fundraising for charities province-wide. We also acknowledge their dedication to preserving and maintaining their vehicles, which are a part of everybody's history."
