The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Service NL, announced today the appointment of Heather Dunford as full-time review commissioner with the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Review Division (WHSCRD).

The appointment is effective March 4, 2019 and was made through the merit-based appointment process established by the Independent Appointments Commission Act. Ms. Dunford’s biography can be found in the backgrounder below.

The WHSCRD is a quasi-judicial body established under Section 21 of the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act. It considers appeals arising from decisions of WorkplaceNL for compliance with the act, regulations and policies.

Biographical Information for Heather Dunford
Heather Dunford graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1999. She has worked in both the private and public sector and has extensive experience in all areas of occupational rehabilitation including: functional capacity evaluation, adjudication assessment, clinic based rehabilitation, return to work consultation and disability case management.
