The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, participated this week in the annual SPE Offshore Europe conference held in Aberdeen, Scotland. This conference is one of Europe’s leading engineering and petroleum events and was attended by a Newfoundland and Labrador delegation, including members of the supply and service industry and all levels of government.
Minister Coady met with a number of key international players in the oil and gas industry, including regulatory bodies, engineering firms, service and supply companies and renewable energy organizations in order to learn from one another and discuss the benefits of collaboration. Minister Coady also had the opportunity to meet with exhibitors and delegates at the trade exhibition.
As part of The Way Forward, the Provincial Government released Advance 2030, a commitment to position Newfoundland and Labrador as an internationally preferred location for oil and gas exploration and development – driven by an innovative, local industry that is globally competitive, environmentally responsible, and maximizes benefits to the people of the province. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.
