Today, the Honourable Derrick Bragg, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, announced the Heat Pump Rebate Program pilot will begin accepting applications on October 15.
Through Budget 2019, the Provincial Government announced a one-year, $1 million heat pump pilot program to assist homeowners in increasing the energy efficiency of their homes. Through this program, up to 1,000 homeowners can receive a grant of $1,000 towards the purchase and installation of an eligible heat pump.
Among the eligibility requirements, the applicant must be a homeowner, applicants must have an annual family income of $150,000 or less, and the heat pump must be purchased and installed by certified installers on or after October 15, 2019. The Heat Pump Rebate Program is fully funded by the Provincial Government, and is delivered in partnership with Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.
