The Honourable Derrick Bragg, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
George’s Brook-Milton Cannabis Production Facility (Reg. 2051)
Proponent: 82994 Newfoundland and Labrador Inc.
The proponent proposes to develop and operate a 495 square metre micro-cultivation cannabis production facility to supply cannabis for the recreational market. Total canopy space for growing will be limited to 200 square metres. The project will be located at 169 Ryder’s Brook Road, George’s Brook-Milton and is proposing the construction of a new insulated concrete-form building that will be soundproof, vapour-impermeable and odour-proof.
The undertaking was registered on September 23, 2019; the deadline for public comments is October 31, 2019; and the minister’s decision is due by November 7, 2019.
UNDERTAKING RELEASED:
Crown Zone 8 (Districts 17 & 18) Forestry Operating Plan Amendment (2018-2022)
Proponent: Department of Fisheries and Land Resources (Reg. 2029)
The project is released subject to the following condition:
- A minimum 30-metre undisturbed buffer must be maintained between forestry operations and any surrounding watercourse or waterbody.
