The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Rocky River, Colinet Fishway Diversion Wall                                  (Reg. 2047)
Proponent: Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Real Property, Safety and Security Branch

The proponent proposes to demolish an existing amourstone fishway diversion wall and construct a new reinforced concrete/amourstone diversion wall in the Rocky River, near Colinet. The diversion wall will ensure proper water flow into the existing fishway, allowing fish to safely migrate through this channel. Concrete for the new diversion wall will be poured on-site. Local roads will be used to transfer equipment to the project area.

The undertaking was registered on August 12, 2019; the deadline for public comments is September 17, 2019; and the minister’s decision is due by September 26, 2019.
