The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Freshwater Bay Cottage Access Road                                                (Reg. 2027)
Proponent: Ryan McDonald

The proponent proposes to construct a 580-metre access road to an existing cottage in Freshwater Bay near Doctor’s Cove. The road is to be located east of Gambo off Drover’s Ridge access road and Cat Bay access road. The road will provide year-round access to an existing cottage.

The undertaking was registered on June 4, 2019; the deadline for public comments is July 11, 2019; and the minister’s decision is due by July 19, 2019.

St. Lawrence Fluorspar Marine Shipping Terminal Project           (Reg. 2028)
Proponent: Canada Fluorspar (NL) Inc. 

The proponent proposes to construct a marine shipping terminal to export from its mine fluorspar concentrate and construction aggregate near Mine Cove in Little Lawn Harbour, along the western border of the Town of St. Lawrence. The project includes: a waste rock crushing plant and aggregate stockpiles; concentrate storage building; access and haul roads; wharf; conveyor; ship-loading system; and rock-filled breakwater.

The undertaking was registered on June 5, 2019; the deadline for public comments is July 11, 2019; and the minister’s decision is due by July 20, 2019.
