Quotes
“Our department is working hard to ensure that the environment is protected and to provide consistency and efficiency to those undergoing environmental assessment. This is the first time since 2002 that this legislation and process has been reviewed, and we look forward to receiving submissions that we can use to inform improvements to the provincial system.”
Honourable Graham Letto
Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment

“Industry believes that an environmental assessment process that is more clear and consistent can maintain or even improve environmental outcomes – while achieving greater efficiency. NEIA and its members have worked hard to develop a comprehensive series of recommendations for the Provincial Government’s consideration. We are ready to engage in this public consultation, and encourage others to participate as well so that Newfoundland and Labrador can achieve the best possible result.”
