The House of Assembly advises that the Honourable Perry Trimper, MHA for Lake Melville, has resigned as Speaker effective immediately.

The election of a new Speaker will be the first order of business when the House of Assembly reconvenes. Until that time, Deputy Speaker Scott Reid, MHA for St. George’s-Humber, will act as the Speaker.
