House of Assembly – Appointment to House of Assembly Audit Committee

The Honourable Perry Trimper, Speaker of the House of Assembly today announced the appointment of Beverley Evans, FCPA, FCA, ICD.D as an external member of the House of Assembly Audit Committee. Ms. Evans replaces Gail Hamilton, FCPA, FCA, ICD.D, whose term expired on August 31, 2019.

The Audit Committee, established under Section 23 of the House of Assembly Accountability, Integrity and Administration Act, is a committee of the Management Commission which assists the Commission in carrying out its oversight responsibility to the House of Assembly and the public with respect to the stewardship of public money. As outlined in the Act, the Committee consists of two members of the Management Commission and two members chosen by the Chief Justice of the Province who are not Members of the House of Assembly.

BIOGRAPHY

Beverley Evans, FCPA, FCA, ICD.D
Beverley Evans is a Partner with Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette (KBRS) leading the Executive Search practice in Newfoundland and Labrador. Ms. Evans holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours, Cooperative) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. After graduating, she moved to Toronto where she completed the Chartered Accountancy (CA) program. She began her career with KPMG in Toronto and quickly advanced into progressively more senior leadership roles within the National Professional Development practice. After her time in public practice, Ms. Evans went on to become Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Fishery Products International Limited; Chief Financial Officer of the Research & Development Corporation; and Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for The Pike Group of Companies. She holds the ICD.D designation from the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors and has served on a variety of public, private and not-for-profit boards throughout her career. Ms. Evans is currently a Board member for a TSX Venture Exchange listed company where she chairs the Audit & Finance Committee.
