House of Assembly – House of Assembly Launches Closed Captioning for Routine Proceedings

The Honourable Perry Trimper, Speaker of the House of Assembly, is pleased to announce that closed captioning is available for routine proceedings of the House of Assembly, which includes Members’ statements, ministerial statements, question period and petitions. Closed captioning will also be available for the 2019 Speech from the Thorne, scheduled for 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, April 4).

Closed captioning is available via the House of Assembly webcast. To activate this feature on the webcast, viewers must follow the instructions outlined here: assembly.nl.ca/pdfs/ClosedCaptioningInstructions.pdf PDF icon.

Closed captioning is also available via the House of Assembly television channel for viewers in certain locations. Those viewing the House of Assembly via television will need to activate the closed captioning function on their device. Work continues with service providers to implement closed captioning in locations where this feature is not currently available.
