  • Fisheries and Land Resources

October 18, 2019

The public are advised of a nuisance fox around the Topsail Beach area in the Town of Conception Bay South and advised not to feed wildlife or leave unsecured food or garbage where animals can access it. Conservation officers with the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources are working to capture and relocate the animal.

Pet owners, especially those living adjacent to wooded areas, are also advised to protect their animals by:

  • Ensuring there are no food attractants for wildlife; and
  • Keeping pets within fenced yards and dogs on a leash or under close supervision while off leash in public areas.

The public are asked to report any fox sightings in the area to the Paddy’s Pond Forestry and Wildlife district office at 709-729-4180 or the after-hours line at 709-685-7273.
