The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will bring greetings at the official opening of the Maritime Lumber Bureau’s 80th Annual General Meeting in St. John’s tomorrow (Wednesday, June 19) at 1:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland, 115 Cavendish Square.
The Maritime Lumber Bureau, founded in 1938, ensures the integrity and uniformity of lumber grading standards. The bureau’s authority extends through the whole of North America, but exists primarily in the Maritimes and Eastern United States.
