Public Advisory: 2019-20 Big Game Licence Draw Completed

The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources has completed the Big Game Licence Draw for the 2019-20 hunting season. Applicants can view the results online by logging into the Wildlife Information Management System at www.wildlife.gov.nl.ca/Applicants will also be notified by mail in the coming days.

The total number of resident moose licences issued on the island portion of the province is 25,230, an overall decrease of 100 licences compared to the 2018-19 hunting season. In Labrador, the moose quota remains unchanged from the previous year at 369 licences. The provincial resident moose quota total is 25,599. The number of resident caribou licences available on the island portion of the province is 359, an overall decrease of seven licences compared to the 2018-19 hunting season.

Hunters are encouraged to review big and small game hunting regulations in the Hunting and Trapping Guide available on the department website at gov.nl.ca/hunting-trapping-guide/.
