Public Advisory: Public Reminded Not to Feed Wildlife Following Fox Sightings in Little Bay and King’s Point

  • Fisheries and Land Resources

March 22, 2019

Conservation officers with the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources are working to capture and remove nuisance foxes reported in the communities of Little Bay and King’s Point. Residents of Green Bay and White Bay communities are urged to report all sightings within their communities by calling 709-673-3821.

Fisheries and Land Resource officials remind the public not to feed wildlife or leave unsecured food or garbage where animals can access it.

Pet owners, especially those living adjacent to wooded areas, are also advised to protect their animals by:

  • Ensuring there are no food attractants for wildlife; and
  • Keeping pets within fenced yards and dogs on a leash or under close supervision while off leash in public areas.

Any unusual behaviour in wild or domestic animals should be reported to conservation officers, wildlife enforcement officers, veterinarians, police or public health officials.
