The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will attend Seafood Expo North America 2019 on March 16, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Minister Byrne will host a reception for industry and meet with industry experts and seafood representatives responsible for sourcing products, equipment and services.

The Seafood Expo is the largest seafood trade show in North America, with more than 21,000 seafood industry representatives from 100 countries in attendance.

The value of total fish and seafood production in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2018 was $1.3 billion, marking the fourth consecutive year it has exceeded one billion dollars. The seafood industry continues to be an integral component of the provincial economy.
