The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will address the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture Annual General Meeting, tomorrow (Wednesday, January 30) at 8:30 a.m., at the Quality Hotel, Gander. Minister Byrne will provide a progress report on the Agriculture Sector Work Plan and Way Forward commitments to develop a stronger economic foundation and increase food self-sufficiency by at least 20 per cent by 2022.

Scott Reid, Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries and Land Resources, will address delegates at the AGM banquet at 7:00 p.m., also at the Quality Hotel, to reiterate the Provincial Government’s plan to further develop the Newfoundland and Labrador agriculture industry.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture represents farmers and farmer groups in the province.
