Premier Ball Announces Independent Review

  • Executive Council

December 3, 2019

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced an independent review into the movement of executive staff within the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

In reviewing the Mitchelmore Report, it identified areas where improvements can be made within the executive movement practice of government – a process that has been in place for decades.

Our government is looking to make improvements by putting in place an independent review that would make recommendations to the executive movement process. This will include the Request for Staffing Action form (RSA), a jurisdictional review of this process in other jurisdictions throughout the country, and a review of Treasury Board Executive Compensation Policies and Procedures.

With this review, we will look at the internal executive movement process to identify areas for improvement.
