Starting today, all residents can register for MyGovNL, the Provincial Government’s platform that provides multiple online services in one convenient, combined location. Residents can easily register by visiting www.gov.nl.ca/digitalgovernment.

Also, as of today two new motor registration services have been included. In addition to the multiple services related to the Motor Registration Division, MyGovNL will be expanded over the coming months and years to feature online services across most government departments and agencies.

Residents who sign up will be able to review their driver’s licence and vehicle registration information, and can renew these online quickly and easily. Also starting today residents can update their mailing address with the Motor Registration Division through their MyGovNL profile, and can advise government if they no longer own a vehicle – all functions that used to require people to visit a physical motor registration office.

A MyGovNL pilot project, which ran between March 28 and November 14, 2019, saw approximately 5,700 residents sign up and test the system. Residents were randomly-selected to participate and were able to provide feedback on how the system works. That feedback has been incorporated into MyGovNL as part of today’s official launch to improve the overall experience.

MyGovNL is the first publicly available system under the five-year Digital Government plan. This plan is making it easier for residents to access the services they need online, and will be expanded to include most programs and services for residents and businesses in the coming years. This plan will put government in a position to deliver on its vision of “One Client. One GovNL. One Relationship.”

Digital Government is delivering on commitments of The Way Forward to operate a more efficient public sector and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.

“Today’s launch builds upon the numerous Motor Registration Division improvements to reduce wait times, such as online appointment bookings, text message alerts that indicate the customer’s place in line, and email notifications of driver’s licence and vehicle registration renewals. We will continue to focus on expansion of online services to the residents of our province.”
