Premier Ball Announces Senior Public Service Appointment

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced the appointment of Kendra Wright as Deputy Minister (Acting) of the Indigenous Affairs Secretariat effective immediately.

Ms. Wright has approximately 16 years of legal experience in Newfoundland and Labrador and Alberta and most recently served as the Assistant Deputy Minister (Courts and Corporate Services) with the Department of Justice and Public Safety.

Biographical information for Kendra Wright

Kendra Wright
Kendra Wright has been employed with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador since 2006 serving in various roles including solicitor in the Department of Justice and Public Safety, Cabinet Officer in Executive Council, and most recently as Assistant Deputy Minister (Courts and Corporate Services), in the Department of Justice and Public Safety. Prior to joining the public service, Ms. Wright spent four years with private law firms in Calgary and St. John’s. She received a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from Université Laval in 1996 and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Ottawa (French Common Law) in 2000. Ms. Wright has been a practicing member of the Bar of Newfoundland and Labrador since 2003.
