The Provincial Government announced today that the 2019-20 Grants to Youth Organizations program is now accepting applications. Information on the program, including the application form can be found online at https://nlyouth.ca/ProgramsServices/GTYO.html

Grants to Youth Organizations has $451,500 in available funding to support community-based organizations throughout the province in leading youth engagement projects that:

  • Encourage skills, knowledge and leadership development;
  • Support youth in contributing to their community, region or province;
  • Create opportunities for youth to come together to share an enriching experience that would otherwise not be possible;
  • Enhance, promote or support partnerships, collaboration or inclusion; and
  • Fill a gap in services.

Successful applicants will have demonstrated how their projects meet the above criteria. The application deadline is July 5, 2019. Funding decisions will be announced once all applications have been received and evaluated.

Quote
“Today’s youth are stepping up to serve their communities in ever more interesting and important ways. From volunteering with local seniors to spearheading innovative projects that address some of the most complex issues facing our regions, young people are clearly engaged. This is in large part thanks to community-based, non-profit organizations that are helping youth acquire the skills, knowledge, experiences and values to be of service to others. I am happy to announce that Grants to Youth Organizations is again accepting applications from youth-based and youth-serving organizations for projects that prepare youth to serve, lead and inspire.”
