The Honourable Carol Anne Haley, Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, will attend the 63rd Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, March 11-13, in New York City.
Minister Haley will be a part of the Canadian delegation of federal, provincial, and territorial representatives. A range of topics will be discussed including violence against women and girls, and women at work.
The priority theme of this year’s meeting is social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
The Provincial Government is committed to advancing the status of women by representing the needs of Newfoundland and Labrador women on an international stage.
