Applications are now being accepted for the K-6 Mathematics Bursary Program. Through the Education Action Plan, bursaries are offered to K-6 teachers to build capacity and to enhance math education in primary and elementary schools.
The department welcomes applications from administrators and classroom teachers who work with K-6 students, including substitute teachers. For more information on the bursary program, including the application form, can be found here. The deadline for winter applications is January 31, 2020.
Since 2018, more than $250,000 has been invested in mathematics professional learning opportunities for educators, including $80,000 in bursaries for K-6 teachers.
Budget 2019 allocates $13 million, an increase of $6 million from Budget 2018, to continue implementation of the Education Action Plan. Supporting education delivers on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents.
