The Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, reminds students that applications are being accepted for Summer Programs offered in French. The deadline for applications is Thursday, April 18.

With an investment of $600,000 through Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second Official-Language Instruction, the summer programs will provide grade nine and level one students the opportunity to discover the culture of a different region and meet new people while improving their language skills.

Applications opened on March 1, 2019 and information about the programs and applications can be found online here.

This initiative reflects commitments in The Way Forward to deliver better services and better outcomes for residents. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.
