Media Advisory: Minister Dempster to Recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, will join representatives from the Coalition of Persons with Disabilities to recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities and sign a proclamation tomorrow (Tuesday, December 3).

The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the office of the Coalition of Persons with Disabilities Newfoundland and Labrador, 460 Torbay Road, St. John’s. Minister Dempster will also release the What We Heard Report from the Accessibility Legislation Engagement Process that took place earlier this year.

Since 1992, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been celebrated annually on December 3 around the world. The theme for this year’s International Day is “Promoting the participation of persons with disabilities and their leadership: taking action on the 2030 Development Agenda”.
