The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development, and the Honourable John Haggie, Minister of Health and Community Services, will announce funding for a smoking cessation program tomorrow (Thursday, March 21). The event will take place at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s at 12:00 p.m.

Minister Dempster and Minister Haggie will be joined by Judy O’Keefe, Vice President, Clinical Services, Eastern Health, and Mary Lynn Pender, Director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association’s Smokers’ Helpline.

Members of the media are asked to meet at the main entrance of the Health Sciences Centre by 11:45 a.m. to be escorted to the event location.
