Provincial Government to Welcome Third Round of Expressions of Interest for International Entrepreneurs

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will open a third round of Expressions of Interest for prospective immigrants around the world who wish to settle in the province and be engaged in the daily operation of a business they create, join, or take over.

The Expression of Interest process for individuals interested in being considered for this category under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) will open on April 24, 2019, and will remain open until 9:00 a.m. NDT on April 25, 2019. More information, including eligibility guidelines, is available here.

In addition, the International Graduate Entrepreneur category also remains open to international graduates of Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic who wish to create or co-own and manage a business in the province. Expressions of Interest for individuals interested in being considered for this category may be submitted at any time. More information, including eligibility guidelines, is available here.

Since 2017, the number of individuals supported toward permanent residency by the Provincial Government has increased by over 25 per cent. Preliminary data for 2018 indicates 1,525 individuals became permanent residents in Newfoundland and Labrador, representing 90 per cent of the The Way Forward 2022 target of 1,700 newcomers annually.

This initiative delivers on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.
