Public Advisory: Christmas Lights Across Canada Celebration to Take Place Thursday, December 6

The Provincial Government is inviting the public to attend Newfoundland and Labrador’s 32nd annual Christmas Lights Across Canada celebration. The event will be held on Thursday, December 6, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Confederation Building, East Block.

When the switch is activated, a display of approximately 60,000 LED lights will illuminate the Confederation Building Christmas tree and other trees along Prince Phillip Drive for the holiday season.

The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band and the Octagon Pond Elementary School Choir will provide festive entertainment for all to enjoy. Hot chocolate and other refreshments will be served after the Christmas lights are switched on.

The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources will join five-year old Natalia Williams and family to activate the lights. The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, will host the event.
