Public Advisory: Pilley’s Island Causeway Bridge Undergoing Repairs

Motorists in central Newfoundland are advised of vehicle restrictions in place on the Pilley’s Island Causeway Bridge due to the replacement of the bridge deck.

The westbound lane will be demolished to facilitate the reconstruction followed by the demolition and reconstruction of the eastbound lane. During this time, traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Vehicles wider than 2.8 metres and/or with overhanging loads will be unable to travel across the bridge while construction is underway.

This work is expected to be completed in November. The Department of Transportation and Works apologizes for any inconvenience. Updates will be provided when available.
