Public Advisory: Temporary Parking and Access Restrictions in Place at Confederation Building for Governor General Ceremony

Visitors to the Confederation Building Complex in St. John’s are advised that parking and access restrictions will be in place tomorrow (Thursday, September 20) near the East Block to accommodate the arrival of Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada. This marks Her Excellency’s first official visit to Newfoundland and Labrador.

Access to the front parking lot and entrance of East Block at 100 Prince Philip Drive will only be available to media and invited guests.

Parking and access restrictions will be in place from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Security officers and barricades will be in place.

Parking for visitors to the Confederation Building Complex is available in the remaining parking lots. Metered parking for the public is also available adjacent to West Block. As per normal protocols, visitors must use the entrance in the basement of East Block.
