March 9, 2018

The Provincial Plow Tracker service has been expanded to include snow clearing equipment at all depots on the island portion of the province. A list of depots added today is in the backgrounder below.

The Provincial Plow Tracker service, available at www.roads.gov.nl.ca, is one of a number of tools that help motorists plan for safe trips, including highway cameras at 33 locations, daily road condition reports, Snow Means Slow public announcements, and updates on the department’s Twitter account, @TW_GovNL , using the #nltraffic hashtag.

The Department of Transportation and Works continues to work to expand the service to depots in the Labrador region.

Quotes
“Having introduced the new plow tracker service this season, we are delighted to expand it to all depots on the island in its first year. It is a helpful tool for planning safe trips that complements defensive driving in winter conditions. As always, we remind motorists that the best way to stay safe while driving during the winter season is to slow down and drive to conditions.”
