The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation is seeking nominations for the 2018 Tourism Achievement Award. The award is presented to an outstanding group or individual for their long-time achievement and dedication to the tourism industry. The deadline for nominations is November 30.
The Tourism Achievement Award recognizes the significant and long-term vision, leadership, innovation, vitality, and contribution to the growth of the tourism industry in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Nominees for the Tourism Achievement Award should have:
- Helped to generate growth in Newfoundland and Labrador’s tourism sector through innovation, wise business practices and the development of new opportunities;
- Dedicated a significant portion of their career to the tourism sector;
- Made a substantial personal contribution to the tourism sector;
- Demonstrated leadership in the industry through their engagement with tourism partners at the local, provincial and/or national levels; and,
- Left a positive and lasting legacy with the people with whom they have worked.
The award is presented annually at the Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador Convention in February 2019.
