The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation is now accepting submissions to the 67th annual Arts and Letters Awards Program.

The Arts and Letters Awards Program encourages artistic creation by Newfoundland and Labrador artists by providing an opportunity to submit works digitally for adjudication at an annual competition. Original creative works in literature, music, visual art and digital multimedia are eligible. Works are recognized through the awarding of monetary prizes and the exhibition of meritorious entries at The Rooms. Last year, 423 entries were submitted for consideration. Deadline for entries to the 2019 Arts and Letters Awards Program is November 16, 2018.

Improving service delivery and providing better access to provincial amenities through a digital-by-design model delivers on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.

Quote
“For many youth, the Art and Letters Exhibition at The Rooms is often the first time many will have their work displayed in a public format. Our province’s culture is one of our finest assets, and government is happy to enrich this sense of identity and diversity by sparking and showcasing artistic talent.”
