Provincial Visitor Information Centres, located in Port aux Basques, Notre Dame, Clarenville, Whitbourne and Argentia have officially opened for the 2018 tourism season. In addition to these sites, Provincial Visitor Information Centres located in Deer Lake Airport and St. John’s Airport are open year round.

Engaging over 200,000 visitors every year, provincial information centres provide information and advice to travellers on local festivals and events, attractions and experiences and direction to hidden gems, located throughout the province.

Travel counsellors with Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism are nationally certified by the Tourism Human Resources Canada emerit program.

In 2017, a record breaking 553,000 travellers visited Newfoundland and Labrador.

Increasing tourism delivers on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.
