The Rooms Wins Two International Business Communications Awards

The Rooms has been named the recipient of two Gold Quill Awards by the International Association of Business Communicators. The Rooms captured the 2018 Gold Quill Award of Excellence in Marketing, Advertising and Brand Communication for the Remember Them at The Rooms campaign, as well as the 2018 Gold Quill Award of Excellence in the Audio/Visual category for the Sing You Home campaign launch video.

The Remember Them at The Rooms campaign and the Sing You Home video were created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beaumont-Hamel, and to help mark the centennial event of July 1, 1916, at The Rooms.

The Gold Quill Awards recognize business communication excellence globally, and are acknowledged as one of the most prestigious awards programs in the industry. This year’s winners were chosen from a field of nearly 700 entries, representing a cross section of public and private sector organizations. The awards will be presented at IABC’s World Conference in Montréal on June 6.

“Congratulations to Dean Brinton and the team at The Rooms for finding new and innovative ways to connect with audiences throughout the country. As the accolades continue to mount, I am delighted that their efforts have received such international recognition, and I commend them for reaching the high standards set by the International Association of Business Communicators.”
Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore
Minister responsible for The Rooms Corporation

“The Rooms has received over 20 provincial and national awards since opening to the public in 2005 and we are delighted to add these two prestigious international awards to the list.”
Dean Brinton
CEO, The Rooms

“Only exceptional work earns an IABC Gold Quill Award. Each entry is rigorously reviewed by multiple experienced communicators from around the world who are trained in applying IABC’s Global Standard of the Communication Profession. The award winners represent our profession of ethical practitioners contributing to organizational outcomes.”
Cindy Schmieg
IABC Fellow, chair of the awards committee
