  • Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation

April 11, 2018

The Provincial Parks Campsite Reservation Service will begin accepting reservations for the 2018 camping season for all provincial camping parks at 7:00 a.m. on April 25. Once the reservation system is launched, campsites can be reserved by calling toll-free 1-877-214-CAMP (2267) or visiting www.nlcamping.ca .

As of April 17, campers are encouraged to visit www.nlcamping.ca  to create or update their user profile which is required when making a campsite reservation.

Two changes have been made to the Campsite Reservation Service. The summer storage fee for parks has been reduced from $10.00 per night to $5.00 per night. Also, the number of seasonal campsites at Barachois Pond, Butter Pot, Frenchman’s Cove, La Manche, Lockston Path and Notre Dame Provincial Parks have been increased for 2018 season.

Seven provincial park campgrounds are scheduled to open for the Victoria Day weekend, while the six remaining campgrounds are scheduled to open in late May or early June. More information can be found in the backgrounder below.

There are 32 provincial parks throughout the Newfoundland and Labrador; including:

  • 13 camping parks
  • 10 park reserves
  • Seven day use parks
  • T’Railway Provincial Park
  • Main River Waterway Provincial Park

Quote
“I encourage all residents and visitors to get out and experience the great outdoors in one of our 32 provincial parks this summer. What a great way to discover and explore the natural beauty of our province, while enjoying time with family and friends. This season we have increased seasonal campsites in six of our parks, and unlike in past years, we will open up reservations for all campsites on the same day. As part of our Provincial Tourism Product Development Plan, we continue to build high quality, people and program-based tourism experiences that attract more visitors, encourage them to stay longer and experience more of our province.”
Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore
Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation
