The public is reminded that studded tires may be used in the province as of Thursday, November 1.

Motorists should ensure their vehicles are in good working order, including topping up fluids, ensuring wipers and other equipment are working properly and installing a set of four matching winter tires. Properly inflated, high quality winter tires provide the best traction on winter roads and increase fuel efficiency.

Motorists are also encouraged to carry an emergency kit in their vehicle while travelling on the province’s highways, especially in the winter months.

Studded tires are required to be removed by April 30, 2019, unless otherwise indicated by Service NL.
