Auditor General, Julia Mullaley, will release her report on the Management of the Procurement of Goods and Services at the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District (NLESD) tomorrow (Wednesday, September 12).

This report was completed in response to Government’s request to the Auditor General in April 2016 to inquire into reported allegations of fraud within NLESD, including a review of the financial activities, transactions for specific vendors and internal controls. The review was focused on the Facilities Branch in the Eastern region of NLESD.

A lock-in will be held for media representatives commencing at 9:30 a.m. at the Office of the Auditor General. During the lock-in, media representatives will be provided with an advance copy of the report. Media representatives are reminded that wireless communication devices, such as cellular phones and portable computers, cannot be used in the lock-in area.

Media representatives may enter the lock-in at any time after 9:30 a.m. and must remain in the lock-in until the release of the report at approximately 10:30 a.m. tomorrow. The report will be available on the Office of the Auditor General website at www.ag.gov.nl.ca/ag/reports.htm.

The Auditor General will be available to the media following the release of the report.
