Provincial Government Supporting Road Improvements in Stephenville Region

John Finn, Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Community Services and MHA for Stephenville – Port au Port, today announced on behalf of the Honourable Graham Letto, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, that more than $426,000 has been allocated through the Small Communities Fund to improve road infrastructure in the region. Parliamentary Secretary Finn was joined for the announcement by Gudie Hutchings, MP for Long Range Mountains, and Tom Rose, Mayor of Stephenville.

In Stephenville, the Provincial Government will contribute over $80,000 to install new traffic lights at the intersection of Queen Street, Minnesota Drive and Prince Rupert Drive. This amount will be matched by the Federal Government, and the town will contribute approximately $163,000 toward the project.

In Rose Blanche-Harbour le Cou, the provincial and federal governments will each contribute approximately $25,000 for municipal road upgrades. The municipality will contribute approximately $50,000 toward the project.

These initiatives deliver on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents.
