The Honourable Graham Letto, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Cape Freels South Walking Trail (Reg. 1991)
Proponent: Cape Freels Heritage Trust Inc.

The proponent proposes to establish a 16 kilometre walking/hiking trail from Cape Freels South to Newtown, located at the northern edge of Bonavista Bay. The trail will follow an historic road used previously by local residents but will also consist of new sections. Trail construction will use a combination of crushed stone and boardwalk and four bridges will need to be constructed to cross brooks along the trail.

The undertaking was registered on November 14, 2018; the deadline for public comments is December 19, 2018; and the minister’s decision is due by December 29, 2018.
