Public Advisory: Adverse Weather Conditions Anticipated

  • Municipal Affairs and Environment

November 14, 2018

The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is monitoring an approaching weather system that is expected to bring strong winds, rain, and snow over Newfoundland and Labrador beginning this evening through to Thursday. Residents are reminded to take measures to ensure personal safety and to follow the latest weather forecast for alert bulletins at www.weather.gc.ca/warnings/index_e.html?prov=nl external link icon.

This system is forecast to bring strong winds and higher than normal water levels in coastal areas due to a combination of storm surge, high waves, and pounding surf. High storm surges increase risk of flooding in coastal regions, and residents are asked to exercise caution around these areas.
