The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Clarenville Cannabis Production Facility                         (Reg. 1965)
Proponent: C&K Rentals Ltd.

The proponent proposes to renovate and retrofit an existing 13,200 square foot building at Marine Drive in Clarenville for the hydroponic production of medical marijuana. Grow rooms will be climate controlled and exhaust systems will be installed with special commercial air filters and scrubbers that prevent odours, fumes, and pollen from escaping. All operations and security will adhere to the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations. The facility is currently connected to municipal water and sewer.

The undertaking was registered on June 4, 2018; the deadline for public comments is July 12, 2018; and the minister’s decision is due by July 19, 2018.

Bauline Line Quarry Expansion                                     (Reg.1966)
Proponent: Chris Squires Enterprises Inc.

The proponent proposes a 9.1 hectare expansion to the existing quarry near Bauline Line Extension, Portugal Cove-St. Philips, Northeast Avalon Peninsula. The gravel and rock quarry is located approximately 0.35 kilometres southwest of Picco’s Pond and will use the existing access road. The proposed expansion will extend the quarry an additional 300 metres to the southwest, bringing the total site area to 17.1 hectares.

The undertaking was registered on June 6, 2018; the deadline for public comments is July 12, 2018; and the minister’s decision is due by July 21, 2018.UNDERTAKING RELEASED:
