The Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Burnt Lake Cottage Access Road (Reg.1950) 
Proponent: David Noel

The proponent proposes to build a new cottage access road near Burnt Lake in the Sunday Lake area off the Bay d’Espoir Highway in central Newfoundland. The new route is to provide improved access to the two cottages on the lower steady of Burnt Lake. The road will be approximately 590 metres in length and five metres in width.

The undertaking was registered on March 6, 2018; the deadline for public comments is April 12, 2018; and the minister’s decision is due by April 20, 2018.

FINAL EIS GUIDELINES APPROVED:

Placentia Bay Atlantic Salmon Aquaculture Project (Reg. 1834)
Proponent: Grieg NL Nurseries Ltd. and Grieg NL Seafarms Ltd.

The minister has approved the final guidelines for the preparation of the environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Placentia Bay Atlantic Salmon Aquaculture Project. The EIS guidelines document identifies the information that the proponent will be required to address in preparation of the EIS. The EIS guidelines document is available on the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment website at: www.mae.gov.nl.ca/env_assessment/projects/Y2016/1834
