Minister Joyce Congratulates George’s Brook-Milton on Becoming a Town

The Provincial Government has approved the request of the Local Service District of George’s Brook-Milton to incorporate and become a town.

The announcement was made yesterday evening at a meeting which was attended by the Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment; Neil King, MHA for Bonavista; Craig Pardy, Chair of the Local Service District; and Tony Keats, President of Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador.

As a town, George’s Brook-Milton will have expanded legislative authority and access to additional revenue sources which will assist in leveraging additional provincial and federal funding for infrastructure projects. The incorporation will assist the community in providing better services and outcomes for residents.

The incorporation of George’s Brook-Milton is consistent with The Way Forward: Realizing Our Potential to assist in developing safe and sustainable communities.
